April 4, 2025 –– St. Croix Falls Welcomes Dustin Vickerman as Head Football Coach

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. — The School District of St. Croix Falls is proud to announce Dustin Vickerman's hiring as the Saints' new Head Football Coach. Vickerman brings a strong background in coaching, leadership, and player development, along with a deep passion for the game and building character in young athletes.
Originally from Spring Grove, Minnesota, Vickerman grew up in a large farming family and was a three-sport athlete throughout high school. He played college football at Wartburg College before finishing his degree at UW-La Crosse, where he also began his coaching career. He has since held coaching and teaching positions in Ashland and Mauston, Wisconsin, serving as both a coordinator and head coach, while also leading strength and conditioning programs.
“I’m excited to join a district with such a strong culture, community pride, and high-performing environment,” said Vickerman. “St. Croix Falls is the kind of place I want to raise my family and make a long-term impact.”
Vickerman is married to his college sweetheart, Caitlin, who is a radiation therapist. They have a young son who keeps them busy, along with two corgis. He enjoys hunting, hiking, and spending time with his family. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he’s especially passionate about football, calling it the “ultimate team sport.”
“What I love most about coaching is helping young people grow—on and off the field,” Vickerman shared. “Football, when done right, builds character, discipline, and leadership. That’s what drives me.”
Coach Vickerman will officially start on July 1, 2025. He looks forward to working with the student-athletes, staff, and greater community as he leads the Saints football program into the future.

Update - April 2, 2025 (3:30 pm)
There are no new details available at this time, but I wanted to let parents know that we will have additional law enforcement present tomorrow in the morning and occasionally throughout the day for additional peace of mind. Again, there are no new details and nothing has occurred that has heightened concerns, I simply wanted parents to be aware.
We are extremely appreciative of the student who came forward to report this. It serves as an excellent reminder to tell an adult immediately if you hear or see something involving a threat of any kind.
Thank you,
Craig Broeren
Superintendent
April 2, 2025
Saints Families,
I am sending this out to all families to ensure transparency and in an attempt to address any rumors as proactively as possible.
At around 8:20 a.m. today, April 2, a Middle School student reported to a staff member that a threat was written on a desk in their classroom. The threat was not specific. Administration and law enforcement were immediately notified and began an investigation to determine who may be responsible for the threat. Staff at all buildings in St. Croix Falls were notified of the situation and took extra precautions to ensure student safety during the investigation out of an abundance of caution. We will always take threats of this nature seriously.
While we believe this threat is not credible, we have continued with our safety/ investigation protocols. Unfortunately, after thorough investigation including interviewing numerous students, conducting locker/school searches, etc. we have been unable to identify the individual responsible at this time. Administration and law enforcement will continue our investigation and will continue with additional vigilance and monitoring to ensure student and staff safety to the best of our ability. Students involved in making threats of this nature, regardless of the intent, will face relevant disciplinary consequences up to and including possible expulsion. If you or your child are aware of any information regarding this, please contact me, Darrell Imhoff- MS Principal, or Josh Tyler- SRO (contact information below).
Actions such as this cause undue stress and anxiety for students, parents, and the community. Individuals who choose to make threats of this nature, regardless of their intent, will be held accountable to the fullest extent possible. Please take the time to discuss with your child(ren) that actions like these have significant consequences to others as well as for those making the threat.
I will provide updates if they become available.
Sincerely,
Craig Broeren
